Who may become members of ACCA?
  • Member – Members are BY INVITATION ONLY. Those who have completed all the qualifications for and have accepted the ACCA invitation for membership may use the post-nominal “CCA”.
  • Fellow – The Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certfied Accountants (FCCA) is awarded to members who have completed five( 5) years of relevant experience and have demonstrated extensive experience and commitment to professional ethics in the fields of accounting, auditing, finance, economics, and business.
  • Lifetime Members – The ACCA Lifetime Membership may be endowed to retirees, unemployed, and inactive owners or directors of a corporation.
  • Student – Students are not members of ACCA, however, may brand themselves as ACCA STUDENT while undergoing completion for the ACCA qualifications.

What is the difference in application, registration, and enrollment in ACCA?

Applied to the CERTS processes, and as used in the ACCA environment, application is the stage where the accomplished form together with the required documents to be attached have been submitted for purposes of evaluating academic credentials resulting to the preparation of Initial Program Mapping. Registration follows the application stage upon which the payment of P2,000 must be made followed by the encoding of your name in the ACCA portal to be officially admitted in the program leading to the generation and issuance of your access code for the myACCA portal. Enrollment covers both the application and registration processes as well as the training, assessments, and exams related to a program being taken. Enrollment may also refer to the access given to the myACCA portal or the access to a specific course being taken.

What is the difference between a Diploma and a Degree?
  • A diploma is given to an individual who had complied with all the academic requriements and qualifications in an academic program prior to a baccaluareate degree.
  • A degree is awarded to a person after completing all the academic requirements in a baccalaureate or graduate studies program.


What is the difference between ACCA Students and ACCA Professionals?
  • An ACCA student is someone pursuing the ACCA qualification, working towards passing the exams, and gaining practical experience.
  • An ACCA professional is an individual who had completed the qualification, passed all exams, gained the required experience, and had been accepted as a member in ACCA. Therefore, may use the “ACCA” or “CCA” post-nominal letters after his/her name. 


What qualifications and degree programs does ACCA offer?

There two (2) ACCA qualifications and two (2) academic degree programs offered by ACCA. The 2 ACCA qualifications are the Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) and the Certified Chartered Accountant (CCA) qualifications. The 2 ACCA academic degree programs are the BSc (Hons) in Applied Accounting in collaboration with Oxford Brookes University and the MSc in Professional Accountancy in collaboration with the University of London.

After completing the ten (10) courses for the CAT qualifications, can I already apply for my CAT certifications?

Not yet, you have to submit a proof validating that you have one (1) year relevant practical experience to complete your CAT qualifications. It is only then that you may attach the letters “CAT” after your name.

Aside from the academic requirements, what else is needed to complete the CAT qualifications?

On top of the CAT academic training and assessments, you also need to have a one (1) year relevant practical experience to complete your CAT qualifications.

What university will issue the BSc (Hons) in Applied Accounting degree?

There are thirteen (13) courses to complete the CCA qualifications. Eleven (11) of them are required while two (2) of them are any of the four strategic professional course options.

What is notable about Oxford Brookes University (OBU)?

There are three (3) main modules in the CCA qualifications, as follows: Diploma in Accounting and Business, Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business, and Strategic Professional modules. The Strategic Professional Module is further divided into two: Strategic Professional Essentials and Strategic Professional Options.

How much will it cost me to get the BSc (Hons) in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University thru the ACCA Pathway?

Not yet. You have to submit a proof validating that you have three (3) years relevant work experience and complete the Ethics and Professional Skills Module to qualify for ACCA membership. From there, you have to receive an invitation to become an ACCA member. ACCA membership is not by direct application but by invitation.

Is there a relevant learning experience requirement in the BSc (Hons) in Applied Accounting degee from the Oxford University, U.K.?

You need to have five (5) years of active ACCA membership and compliance to CPD (continuing professional development) policies to be inducted as an FCCA member.

Is there an ACCA Bridging Program?

There is no official or formal pathway name as ACCA Bridging program. ACCA however serves a learning and certification gateway among students and professionals engaged in non-accounting/non-business fields to acquire knowledge, skills, and competence in accounting, auditing, taxation, and audit and assurance services.
